My concentration is about my love for food and baking. Food is livelihood. I believe that people have a deep connection to food, the process of growing, preparing, making, and enjoying it. I use light and color to capture the joy and art of foods. I also use emphasis, rule of thirds, movement, and shape to draw the viewer into the process and love in the food. In the end of my concentration I explore the idea that in the industrialized world food lacks love and causes people harm.

Week 5
I ate these things this weekend. I went to 10 Speed Coffee and I ate doughnuts and meadow flavored tea. I loved the way they put the fresh tea in the bag so we really knew what was in it. I made merguanes and pumpkin bread this weekend as well. I like laying out the ingridients to really show my process.

End of Week 4
This week I've experinted more with fresh fruit. I plan to use the image of the bananas below in a diptic or photostory with banana bread. I would like to bring out more of a mood in my photos and have an underlying message. I watched a documentary on a photographer, Sylvia Plachy. I also created a diptic to show that the desire was satisfied by getting a macron.

Week 4
I am using more natural foods in addition to taking photos of baked goods. I made fresh juice from fruits and vegetables from the greenhouse we are apart of. I am making the food as down to earth as possible. I look at food and it looks ALIVE.
Week 3 Follow Up
Last weekend in Bend at Nordic State I took photos of a variety of desserts I made for our banquet. I tried to make the food look as delicious as possible. The photos capture the desire and sweetness of the food. I am trying to make viewers want it.
